Long-time affiliate expert of the CEELI Institute, Judge Mary McGowen Davis, was named by the United Nations Human Rights Council the final member of a three member team charged to investigate purported violations of international humanitarian and human rights laws in the Gaza Strip since conflict ignited on June 13, 2014.  Judge McGowen Davis is a retired Supreme Court Justice from New York State and has contributed most recently to the CEELI Institute’s judicial training program in Tunisia as pictured here with CEELI Director of Special Programs, Joel Martin, fellow expert, Judge Andre Davis, and a Tunisian participant. Judge McGowen Davis has also served as a consultant to the international tribunal on Rwanda and to the International Criminal Court, working on other inquiries into Israeli actions.
